Intake Process
- • Prior to the first counseling session, a client must complete the intake process. The intake process begins once a parent or guardian contacts Empower Youth and completes a phone intake with an authorized staff member. Following the phone intake, the guardian and client are scheduled for an intake which takes about 1.5 hours. The intake consists of a thorough interview in which questions about the client’s medical, educational, family, mental health and drug/alcohol history are posed. Upon completion of the intake, the client is then scheduled for the appropriate session type that coordinates best with the level of care needed.
